As an individual who self-studied Government and Politics, this book is great. It is updated every year so it has information from the Coalition government and 2015 general election. It has all the information you might ever need and the structure is really nice. The book also utilises various layouts which make it engaging and interesting to revise from. It is however not perfect;1) It is not for a specific exam board. This means that you have to closely follow the specification to avoid doing unnecessary chapters. For example, I do Edexcel, and after spending some hours doing the final chapter I realised it wasn't even in the specification!2) It sometimes provides unnecessary details. This is not a huge issue, but it does sometimes over-complicate things and repeat itself which some may find frustrating.3) Quite a lot of spelling mistakes. Again not a prominent issue, but something that should not be occurring so frequently in a paid textbook.Clear, comprehensive and accessible. I would recommend this as a primary text for any A Level or undergraduate Politics student, or for anyone simply interested on the machinations of our government. There are "Getting You Thinking" case studies, Test Yourself activities and direction to weblinks for extended reading throughout.
