This book really gets down into the fundamental theory of politics. I bought it for my high schoolers and it’s great at giving them the basics of political science along with examples from different countries around the world. I think this is a college-level book, it is definitely pretty dense to get through. But it is excellent. If you want to use for a high schooler you would just have to help them through it. I read it out loud to them and then stop to explain certain concepts a bit more clearly. I have not noticed any political slant in either direction, which was one of my concerns when looking for a poly sci book.
